For further queries we can be contacted on

The Fete in the Park is a volunteer run and free community event aimed at bringing together the communities in the Petworth area and welcoming visitors from beyond.    It provides an opportunity for charities and community groups to raise funds and promote their activities against a background of a broad range of commercial and craft stalls and a day of fun packed entertainment.

We expect around 3,000 people to attend through the day, with a real buzz from well before the event starts at noon, right through to the evening concert that ends at 8.00pm.

We look forward to receiving your application to attend.

Catering:   Please note that the Fete in the Park management team are careful to ensure a balance in the range and number of catering stalls and outlets that attend the event.  This benefits both our visitors and traders.  If you are a caterer interested in attending the Fete in the Park, please complete this Expression of Interest-Catering form.

The National Trust

Terms and conditions can be read here >

The conditions of our agreement with the National Trust are a lot more rigorous this year than previously.

Petworth Park is now subject to a Higher Level Stewardship agreement with Natural England and this involves strict standards – if these are broken there are heavy financial implications for the National Trust.

The most important of these for your attention are:

  • Do not pollute the ground or watercourses
    • Drip trays/matting must be employed under any generators and vehicles known to leak oils.
    • Waste water must not be disposed of into water courses; it should be stored and removed from site (Advice from NT staff).
    • Catering outlets must not dispose of used cooking materials (oils) in the grounds.
    • Any ashes must be removed from the site.

We will be providing containers on site for waste water and request that you ensure your staff use these.

There is also no drinking water available on site – please bring your own.  We will have a bowser with a limited quantity of clean water, but this will not be suitable for drinking.

Another stipulation is that the concert ends sharp at 8.00pm and all visitors leave the park by 8.30pm.   We therefore request that you stop selling by 7.40pm.

In order to satisfy our own insurance and legal requirements, and those of the
National Trust, we require that you supply the following information as requested on
the application above:
Public Liability Insurance Certificates

Risk Assessments
Food Hygiene Certificates etc – where applicable
We will not accept your booking unless you do so. In some circumstances, we may
need to share this and other details, electronically, with the National Trust.
